Being nice to someone you dislike

Being nice is a reflection of myself and not dependent on the recipient.

Respecting someone does not mean you like them. It’s just that you accept the fact that they are imperfect beings, like everyone else. Being human, of course, I do sometimes get my feathers ruffled, but I strive to treat everyone with respect, whether I like them or not. The way I’d want to be treated. I may not go out of my way though for the ones who make life difficult and complicated. Life has a way of removing the really bad ones. ~ Cynthia Kerr

There are many of us who are nicer to those we dislike, because it would be so so easy to rearrange their face. Have I ever been unexpectedly nice to you and you didn’t understand, expect it, or deserve it? Now you know how close you were to a hospital. ~ Douglas Ledet
